1. Scope
This policy applies to the Veilspace app for iPhone and iPad, its Share Extension, and this website at veilspace.kao9.dev.
2. Files and workspace information
Files imported into Veilspace, as well as filenames, folders, content types, dates, tags, thumbnails, and workspace indexes, are encrypted and stored locally on your device. Veilspace does not operate a backend that receives these files or workspace details.
The main app and Share Extension use an Apple App Group and shared Keychain access group so they can access the same encrypted storage and device-bound key. This data is available only to those Veilspace components on your device.
3. Codes and recovery
Veilspace does not keep a readable list of your access codes or workspaces. We cannot see, reset, or recover a forgotten code. Deleting the app, resetting or losing the device, removing its device passcode, or moving to another device can permanently make all workspaces unavailable.
4. Purchases and the 30-day trial
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Veilspace locally reads Apple-signed App Transaction and StoreKit entitlement information, including the original download date and purchase status, to determine trial and Lifetime access. Veilspace does not send this purchase information to a Veilspace backend because the app has no entitlement server.
Apple may process purchase history, Apple Account, device, and payment information under Apple’s own privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment details.
5. Camera, microphone, Photos, Files, and sharing
Veilspace requests camera and microphone access only when you choose to capture a photo or video directly. System photo and file pickers let you select items without giving Veilspace unrestricted library access. Selected items are copied into encrypted storage. Imported originals remain in Photos, Files, or the source app until you delete them there. A direct camera capture is not added to Photos by Veilspace.
6. Exports and previews
Previewing or exporting may create a protected temporary decrypted file with a random name. Veilspace removes these temporary files when previewing or sharing ends, when the app locks, or when it leaves the foreground. Other apps and services you choose when sharing receive a separate decrypted copy and apply their own privacy practices.
7. Backups and deletion
Veilspace excludes encrypted vault data from iCloud and device backups. Items moved to Recently Deleted remain available inside that workspace for up to 30 days unless permanently deleted sooner. Deleting Veilspace removes its app data and can make all vault content permanently unrecoverable.
8. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The Veilspace app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information.
9. Website data
This marketing website does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies, and it has no contact form or user account. As with any website, the hosting provider and network infrastructure may temporarily process an IP address, request path, browser information, and timestamps to deliver and secure the site. Retention depends on the hosting configuration selected by the site operator.
10. Children
Veilspace is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app or website.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Veilspace changes. The updated date and current policy will always be published on this page before material changes take effect where required.
